Reflecting on the Documented Essay and PowerPoint Presentation

The reflection assignment gives you an opportunity to think about what you have learned and examine the process you used in completing the assignment. Once again, your audience will be you and your teacher.

You may choose again to use either a letter or report format. The questions below are a guide; please answer at least two questions for each assignment. Remember to include an introduction, body, and conclusion to your paper.

Documented Essay

  1. What is the rhetorical situation (audience, context, purpose) of your documented essay?
  2. Has your essay fulfilled the purpose?
  3. How did you come up with your thesis and develop support for it?
  4. How have you addressed the ethical dimensions of the topic?
  5. How have you incorporated secondary sources?
  6. What do you think are the strengths of this essay?
  7. What problems did you face while writing this essay?
  8. What solutions did you find for those problems?

PowerPoint

  1. What is the rhetorical situation (audience, context, purpose) of your group's PowerPoint and how has your group met those goals?
  2. What alternative plans for this poster did your group consider? Did you keep or reject those ideas? Why?
  3. What problems did your group face while working on this project?
  4. What solutions did you find for those problems?
  5. What do you think are the strengths of your group's PowerPoint?

Oral Presentation

  1. What is the main point you wanted the audience to learn from your presentation?
  2. How effectively has your group addressed that main point?
  3. What do you think are the strengths of your group's presentation?
  4. What do you wish you had done differently?
  5. What would you do if you had more time for the oral presentation?
